Hi Michael,
Not much info on why the Brailsfords were buried on Daniel Island (Lesesne Cemetery).William Roper Brailsford Senior’s widow, Anna/Hannah was listed in Charleston on the 1850, 1860 and 1870 Census. Her son, W.R.B. Junior was listed as single/Clerk/Merchant and living with her.By 1871, Junior was buried on Daniel Island and his mother was living with her daughter, Hannah Carriere on the 1880 Mt. Pleasant Census. (Dau. Hannah's husband was a Physician.)
W.R.B. Senior’s sister, Maria Louisa Brailsford married Peter George Parker in 1834.His father was a John Parker, I think?Peter and Mary Louisa Parker are buried at the St. Thomas cemetery in Berkeley County.
Yes, some of the Cochrans and Beekmans buried in Lesesne Cem. on DI were related to Isaac Lesesne, the immigrant. His granddau. Susannah Lesesne married into the Cochran family and granddau. Elizabeth married into the Beekman family.Isaac Senior and Isaac Lesesne Junior were buried at the family cemetery along with many others but no tombstones remain today. It’s wonderful the cemetery has been somewhat restored and now documented.
