Benjamin Brown, Master Sargeant was a Buffalo soldier in the US military and was involved in the Great Wham ( as in BOMB )Robbery that occured in Graham County AZ on May 11th 1889 During the Indian wars. He was wounded and recieved the medal of honor. I recently read an article from Trudy Bradfield Taliaferro from "Storytime---The Color of my Country" "copyright 2000" which was posted on the website www.aagsnc.0rg/columns/Taliaferro.htm concerning her "roots journey". She is a descendant of Benjamin Brown. I am trying to contact her or other descendants of Master Sargeant Brown to let them know about future events that may be occuring at the site of the Wham Robbery in Arizona in the near future. The www.9thcavalry.com a Buffalo Soldier Association around souteastern AZ is hoping to get this site recognized and officialy designated as an important part of the African American soldiers involvement in the settling of the west.

If anyone knows her or how she can be reached or would be willing to contact her for me to see if I can communicate either with her or other descendants please contact me at jyrasco@yahoo. com or write to me at 728 So 9th AV Safford AZ 85546 or call 928 428 2820 it would be appreciated.

Sincerely Jay Rasco.
