Black Bradfield's from Texas

I come from the James Bradfield from South Wales. My family branches off with Major William Bradfield who started a stagecoach line out of Marshall, TX. Anyway, cool thing happened today. A repairman was working across the street and needed to borrow a phone to order parts. The owner was gone and the neighbor who was to help had just left. I was the first person he saw and when he introduced himself I commented that his name was the same as my mother's maiden name.
After talking we discovered that his father not only had the same name as my g-g-grandfather, but also was from Marshall, TX. To him it seemed odd since I'm white and he's black, but having done the family history I remembered that Major William was a slave owner... OOPS!
So I explained and he was so fascinated that I ended up giving him some starting points to research such as Mrs. James Ross Bradfield 1956 book and my family tree information. I know somewhere there is some information on William's slaves and some of their names and birth, but I can't remember where I found it. To be honest when I found the information on the slaves I skimmed it and moved on. Not something you like to just tell the world... but now I wish I had read some more so that I could pass it on.
So if ANYONE has ANY information on the slaves of Major William Bradfield I would love to pass the information on.
