Oath of Allegiance, GA, 1830
Governor George R. Gilmer, on 22 December 1830, signed an Act requiring all white persons residing within the limits of the Cherokee nation to take an oath of allegiance to the State of GA and to be licensed by the State. Benjamin and Mijah are on the list of those who took the oath.I have a transcription of the entire list if anyone wants it.Ann
