According to the H. I. Brackett Genealogy: James C. Brackett was born 28 Sep 1818 in Albion, Kennebec County, Maine.In 1834 he went with his parents to Weston in the southest corner of Aroostook County.In 1838 her emoved to Calais, Maine.He was a deputy sheriff of Washington County and served under his brothe Luther who was the Sheriff.James removed to Corinth, where he resided for over 50 years until his death in 1904.He served as this town's selectman, assesor, overseer of the poor and was census enumerator in 1880 and 1890.He was a farmer.James married Elizabeth Ball who was born on 27 Jul 1821 and she died on 31 Aug 1882.James married 2nd L.M. Sawyer. James and Elizabeth had children: 1.Mary E. Brackett b. 30 Jun 1848 and married Joseph E. Lewis and lived in Holliston, Massachusetts. 2.Oscar Brackett b. 06 Feb 1850 and married Ella Lewis. 3.Martha Brackett b. 25 Mar 1852 and married Charles F. Parent.4. Sarah Brackett b. 15 May 1854 and died 11 July 1876. 5. James F. Brackett b. 08 Feb 1856 and died 19 Mar 1862. 6. Ellen F. Brackett b. 31 Oct 1858 and trained as a nurse. 7. William H. Brackett b. 15 Apr 1860; was a pinter and lived in Corinth, Maine.*. Caroline W. Brackett b. 09 Jan 1862 and married Charles Dolliver and lived in Lewiston, Maine.9. Charles E. Brackett b. 02 Apr 1865 and lived in Corinth, Maine.10. Elizabeth Brackett b. 13 Feb 1869 and lived in Corinth, Maine.Nothing else is recorded about Charles E. Brackett.James C. Brackett was the son of James and Abigail (Fairland) Brackett.James born 30 MAr 1784 in Berwick and he died in Weston, Maine on 07 Apr 1845.Abigail was born 30 Mar 1787 in Vassalboro, Maine and died on 09 Dec 1855 in Weston.They had 13 children.The line of descent goes: Anthony Brackett, Thomas Brackett, Samuel Brackett, Smauel Brackett, James Brackett, Joseph Brackett, James.If you want the rest of these ancestors history you try and find a copy of H.
