My name is Brad Wayne Brack of Amarillo,TX. The surname Brack was introduced into England sometime during the 12th Century. Having done heraldry research, the name literally means "a hound which hunts by sent". Because surnames were derived from the type of occupation a man did, it means one who was mostly likely in charge of "keeping the hounds". My family over the past 150 years have all been Southeners. Migrating from Lowndes & Clay, County, Mississippi in 1869 to Grayson County, Texas. My immediate Brack family members have all remained in Texas during this time, though we are scattered. I have census records dating back even further. My family arrived in Virginia in the mid-17th Century from England. They migrated down through North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and arriving in and around the West Point, Mississippi area in the early 1840's where my great grandfather, Edward Dargan Brack was born in 1846.
