Here is an email fron a brack in germany.

Brack is not a very common name in Germany. In a city like mine with more
than 300,000 inhabitants you find about 4 families named Brack but a lot
more called Mueller, Schmidt or whatever.
I'm not shure about England and if the name was created without knowing
about Germany.
Here in Germany my family tree can be traced back to th 16th century. My
families heraldic animal is a brown dog usually good for hunting. The kind
of dog is called Bracken. In a very old German legend it's said: Let the
Bracken loose, I see a bear.
That's what my family believes is the source of the name Brack.
