The name "Betsy Covenhoven" is listed as a witness on a court case in Huntingdon county April 1799.It is assumed that she is one of the females on the 1790 census under John Covenhoven.I suspect that John was married before moving to central PA, and his wife was from the area of Chester county or eastern Maryland.
All known descendants of John Covenhoven and Lydia Predmore are Crownovers. On his will of 1778, John Sr. is "Cownover".
I'm aware that "Cyrenius" is a name used among the earliest Van Kouwenhoven/Covenhoven/Conover families, but there are none in the Crownovers.
My husband is descended from the Daniel of Huntingdon county that you mentioned.I have never seen the actual handwritten census, but I wonder if he was listed as "Cownover" and it was misread.
I've looked at your other posts on the Boyle family.I live in Shirley township, Huntingdon county and am familiar with the township and county changes, if you wish to exchange ideas.
