We, in Erie Pa have it that Charles Boyle born 1730 was originally Charles O'Boyle and that the "O" was dropped when he joined the continental Army. But, we are unable to confirm this. We have that the same Charles
married a woman whose last name was Steadman and they Had one son named Charles Steadman Boyle (1762 - 1859) and the second Charles
is the father of Jesse Boyle (11/15/1799 to
1/26/1872) Jesse married Sarah (sp.?)Anne and they had the 12 children you mention in your message. My Great Grandfather was George
H.Boyle and he changed the name to Boyles adding the s. His son was Theodore Boyles of
Spring Township - Conneautville Pa and his son is Elmer E. Boyles (and others) who is
my father.
I am trying to find out about Charles Boyle (O'Boyle) of 1730 i.e. who his father was and when he came to america or was he born here.
Thank You and keep up the good work on this
web page
