Hi Ralph (if you ever stumble across this again!),
I finally discovered the county and town where Owen Boyle was born -- Stranorlar in County Donegal. Alas, the IFHF's Catholic records go back only to 1877 for Stranorlar, and Owen had emigrated to New York in around 1852.
His wife may have come from somewhere near Dublin though, so if ever I can figure that out I may be able to take advantage of the foundation's database.
