Jason, Thanks for the information you sent. You are not the first to tell me of St. Ann's reluctance to release burial information. My sister and I visited Woodside 2 years ago and found it not very well maintained. Many of the markers my mother remembers from her childhood are gone. I'm glad you mentioned your aunt, Katherine Breslin, as we have some kind of Breslin link in 1880. My cousin, Bob Boyle, sent ggrandfater, Bernard Boyle's naturalization document to me several years ago. He was born in Andara and came to PA in 1863-1865. He was married to Ellen Jane Timney (she was very specific about that spelling) whose parents were from Newry (dad) and Belfast (mom). The Boyle's settled in Hazleton and the Timney's settled in Lausanne, Carbon, PA. On the document, which was filed in Mauch Chunk, Thomas Brislin and Patrick Burke are the men who swore Bernard's testimony was accurate. I'm fairly certain that Patrick Burke was the father of Rose Burke of Freeland. I believe Patrick lived in Lausanne in the 1870's when the Timney's were there. He may have introduced Bernard and Ellen Jane. When my mother was growing up, the families were close and she remembers referring to Rose Burke as Auntie Rose. I suspect Thomas Brislin was close in age to Patrick Burke (b. abt. 1820). Do you have a Thomas Brislin in your family line who would be about the same age? Perhaps your family holds a few more clues. I'm looking forward to anything you can tell me. Thanks for your help. Char Notify Administrator about this message?
