Hi John,

My name is Michael Boyle (Sydney, Australia) and over the past weeks I've traced my family tree to Stephen Boyle (born 1830 in Cloughenally, Donegal) who is the son of John and Mary Boyle, Donegal circ 1800.

Stephen boarded the Sapphire bound for Newcaslte/ Sydney at 18yoa, unable to read or write and without knowing anyone in the new colony of Newcastle/ Sydney, New South Wales and was a as sponsor of the Donegal Relief Fund.

I find these stories very inspiring!

I'm not sure Cloughenally is an actual town - it's what I've obtain from the ships original manifest.

My tree is located at: http://trees.ancestry.com.au/tree/23628522/family?cfpid=1416319715

Unfortunately, Ireland is where my trail goes cold as I'm finding it hard to obtain geneological records.

Any help you or others could provide would be greatly appreciated and happy to share any information with you if it helps.

Best

Michael Boyle
