Hmm, the age is almost right.

I have a Great uncle Jack who fits about that age. He lived in New York. No red hair, but it was pale.

His parents were Michael and Marie Boyle of County Mayo. His brothers were James, Tom, Harry, David, and a Patrick that died in the 1918 flu epidemic.
