Patty, I came across your ancestors in the 1900 census for Beverly MA, Essex Co. pg 280B. I was looking for possible relatives of mine. The 1900 census has the following: Hugh Boyle born Nov 1844, 55 yrs old to US in 1842 (but then says 52 yrs in US which fits better to your 1849 immigration date). Naturalized alien, born Ireland, occupation House carpenter, Owns mortaged house. married 19 yrs. Wife Julia came to US in 1875, 25 yrs in US, Born Ireland in July 1856, 43 yrs old, had 3 kids, 3 living. Kids listed are Jennie C. Oct 1881 18 yrs Mass born John J. Jan 1884, 16 yrs born MA Catherine F Nov 1889, 10 yrs. born MA living at 195 (looks like Hale St). I have an ancestor Margaret Boyle who was born ~1836-1840 in Ireland. She married Nathaniel Ross in 1857 in Boston/Charlestown. Her parents on marriage listing were Hugh and Rose A. Boyle. I was hoping Hugh Boyle in Beverly might be her brother. Do you know if Hugh Boyle Sr married to Jennie could be a 2nd marriage after the death of his first wife? Pat Blanchard Notify Administrator about this message?
