dear charlotte: many thanks for your kind response. i'm not much of a genealogist . i was looking for something else when i stumbled onto this boyle line. there's high likelihood that john f. was my great grandfather. how many kids did he have? my gramps was john thomas b. bn 1877 in pittsburgh. i don't recall a lot about it all. his father plus some other relatives fought in the civil war. one was in a ky regiment. i don't recall ever hearing the name of my greatgrandmother in that line. But i know that john t's dad was named john and that the next one back was hugh boyle. my grandad also had a cousin, hugh. if i hear some names of john f's children bells may ring! there were lots of boyles and they were well established in pgh. thanks again, russ
