Amazingly little on the internet about either Senator Thomas EWING of Ohio (b.12/28/1789 d.10/26/1871)or his wife Maria BOYLE, born in Lancaster, Ohio. They married about 1820.
They adopted William Tecumsah SHERMAN when he was a boy and raised him in their home. Sherman later married their daughter, Ellen Boyle EWING.
Despite these famous names, there is very little on the internet about the family.
