Chances are relatively good that these folks came from the Quilty/Miltown Malbay area, though I can't say for sure on the basis of the information you've given me.

I do have these records that could be very useful:

Ellen Boyle
born 1815, Miltownmalbay, Clare, Ireland.
died 1899, Gulgong, NSW.
arrived in Australia, 1864, Sirocco.
married to Patrick Boyle.

Patrick Boyle
born 1840, Tromora, Clare, Ireland.
died 1877, Gulgong, NSW.
arrived in Australia, 1864, Sirocco.
married to Annie Egan.

The first person could conceivably be the Ellen Boyle (married to Patrick) whom you have in mind. And the second person could be a brother to the younger Ellen Boyle. The fact that Patrick married an Egan might mean that the families were close.

I got those records from http://www.hagsoc.org.au/ ... they relate to Member 006, in case you want to send a query to the group's secretary.

best regards, Alan Boyle
