Boylands from Lanc/Cheshire
I am looking for any information about the Boyland family living in Macclesfield in the late 19th century. In particular, I'm trying to find Mary Agnes Boyland born 1874 in Macclesfield, who I believe may have fostered my father for a short time in the 1930s.
Mary Agnes's parents were:
Thomas Boyland of Manchester (c1843-1879) and
Alice Shaw (b.1846 in Ireland, d.1929 in Macclesfield).
They were married c1863 and also had daughters Elizabeth Ann Boyland (b.1871 in Manchester) and Sarah Ann Boyland (b.1867 in Openshaw, d.1899 in Macclesfield)
Alice Shaw's mother was Julia Shaw (b.1805 Ireland) who emigrated to England with her children shortly after the Famine. Julia's other daughters, Elizabeth and Ann, married James McGuinness and John Darby respectively, both in Macclesfield area.
In 1935 I believe Mary Agnes Boyland (then age 62) was living in the Ditton, Widnes area. She was a Roman Catholic who attended St Michael's church in Ditton, of which William Howarth was priest.
If anyone has any information about this family, I would be very grateful.
