Hi Eileen...Since the name Christopher is in my Boylan family ,sometimes it can be a clue as names get passed down. Are you sure if yours is Boylan or Boyle ?
My Christopher was born in 1812 in Co. Meath and came to Canada in about 1822 and his father John worked in England in the weaving trade. Anything else you might know as a possible link ?
