Jan,

Here I am again. I read the response to my own message before reading yours. I would say we are definitely related as Peter Boylen was born in Hartlepool on 13 Jan 1862 at 1, Mosley St. He was the oldest of 7 children. Shortly after he was born the family moved to Middlesbrough, as you are aware.
Thomas, the father was born in Ireland and had a brother called Michael and another called Arden. They came to England in 1848 or before. Michael who is my direct ancestor was married in Hartlepool in 1848 and living with him and his wife in 1851 census was his brother Thomas. They lived in North Wells St. in Hartlepool. Thomas was not married until 30 May 1859 in Hartlepool. The two brothers then split up, Michael moved to Crook in Co Durham and Thomas went to Middlesbrough. Michael died in 1885 in Crook. I am not sure when Thomas died.

There is loads to tell and share, please respond ASAP.

Regards,

Peter
