I too have been researching the southern Boyett family. I go back from my G Grandmother Mary Elizabeth Boyett-Barrs in Lafayette County, Florida and Lowndes/Brooks County Georgia, to GG Grandfather John Ashley Boyett of Brooks County Georgia and born in Wayne County NC. Apparently the line goes back to Moses Boyett, to Amos Boyett, to Thomas Boyett, Jr, to Thomas Boyett II and Thomas Boyett I. But, the tree ends there about 1665 in Nansemond County Virginia.
