I apologise for the delay. I believe you will find that the Nathaniel of whom you speak was baptised in East Ogwell on 8 June 1764. His parents were Nathaniel and Joan Boyes. Nathaniel and Joan were married in Ashburton, Devon in 1760. At the time of the marriage, Nathaniel (Snr.) was listed as being resident at Ashprington, Devon. I am, however, not convinced you have the correct date of burial for your Nathaniel - the Buckfastleigh parish records I consulted were faint but appeared to say that the Nathaniel of whom you speak died as an infant (but I may stand corrected on that).
Naturally, I would strongly urge you to check the dates I offer you. As you no doubt realise, there is a great deal of subjectivity involved in interpreting faint parish record data!! Certainly, you are right about us being in some way connected. I am still not able to conclusively prove that my John Boyes (married 1789) is the brother to your Nathaniel because the baptisms and bishop's transcript data for East Ogwell for the years I need are missing. Still, I live in hope of finding the elusive information.
Do you have any information on the dates of your Buckfastleigh relatives - names dates of birth, marriage and death etc.? Do you know of the Boyes of North Bovey? They are my more immediate relatives but even they left there nearly 100 years ago.
Hope this helps and I hope you have some dates for the Buckfastleigh family.
