WIilliam BOYD, councilman MANCHESTER NH 1846
Hi
I am researching my family tree and several ancestors were from Manchester.
There is one man who is a "brick wall" for me and I actually have his
marriage and death certificates! I can't find who parents were (although on his death cert. it lists them)
He was William Boyd, a member of the first Common Council in Manchester, NH. He
was born Nov 1809/10 in E.KIngston NH to William Boyd and Maria Lamprey
(according to the death record). He was a butcher and his business was in
the Patten's block in town. He married 1st Sarah "Sally" Osgood of Amesbury,
MA and their children were: Augusta A., Arthur, Charles W.and 2nd, my ancestor, Sarah C. Robertson (sometimes written as Robinson). Their chidren were Frank E., John H., George A., Sarah, etc.
They married in Manchester 27 nov 1845. Their sons opened a livery stable as
Boyd Brothers Livery years later. He died 10 july 1898 and is buried at the
Valley Cemetery in Manchester.
Thank you
