Hi Jenny,
If you get to Linlithgow, it would almost certainly be worth having a look at the Cemetery next to St. Michael's Church. You can get a reasonable picture of it on http://www.electricscotland.com/linlithg/palace.gifhttp://www.electricscotland.com/linlithg/palace.gif. There is an obelisk and urn just near the church door (I think) in memory of William Boyd, the son of the one who married Margaret Marshall, plus both his wives (consecutive) and a number of others. I don't think George is in that cemetery but I see there is a George Boyd in the Muiravonside Cemetery who died 6/7/1839 aged 66, the widower of Isabella Young. Don't know if this helps but it is an interesting correspondence of names. It could conceivably be a son of the other George and a relative of Margaret. I see there are several Boyds in Slamannan Cemetery but no George. I'm not sure what other ones might be relevant.
Cheers. John
