Further to the origins of the surname: the old Gaelic word meaning "yellow-haired" is also thought to be the origin of the name by many historians. Additionally, there was a Norman family (de Boyte I think) knocking about in Scotland in the middle ages.
This doesn't touch on the Antrim question I know. Just thought I'd confuse things a little.
