My search and that of Malcomb Boyes in Yorkshire, England... he is a One Name Researcher, places the first Boyce (Boys) in Brittany, France. We came to England with William the Conquerer. Two of our guys were knights and there is a stained glass window in a church in England of them. As yoy know our name is all over the United Kingdom. My line traces to Tipton, England in the mid-lands. Our family shield traces to the ORIGINAL guy who was the FIRST to have the name. It looks like BOYS was the first spelling all the others are derived from. Hope this helps.
