I am descended from a Johannes Buys and wife Neeltje Claaze for Freehold Monmouth co. NJ. through their son, Johannes II and wife Abigail Horton of Amwell Twp., Hunterdon co., NJ, through their son John (Johannes)III Buys and wife Lena Marselius. Lena Marselius d. abt 1779, John m. (2) Elizabeth Gordon.
John BuysIII and Lena Marselius son: Henry Buys, m. Margaret Gordom. John BuysIII and Elizabeth Gordon and Henry Buys and Margaret Buys and other Buys children went to Sodus, Wayne Co. NY aft. Rev. War. Henry and Margaret Buys went to Erie Co. PA, other of family went to Paw Paw, Michigan area. Family spells name: Buys, Bice, Buyce.
Would be glad to exchange data on this family. Johannes BuysI (m. Neeltje Claaze) was son of Adrian Pietersen Buys and Tryntje Hendricks Oosteroom. Adrian P. Buys was from Tiel, Netherlands, Tryntje Hendricks Oosteroom dau of Hendrick Jansen Oosteroom and Tryntje Lubberts Van Blarcom. Tryntje Lubberts Van Blarcom dau. of Lubbert Gysbertsen Van Blaricum and Divertje Cornelis.
