am trying to find anything I can about a Hugh DEBOYS and Margaret WILSON who baptized their children, Isabella in 1830 and James in 1833 in Carnmoney Parish, County Antrim, Ireland. There was a third child, Mary Jane that was born between 1837-1842 (depending on her age on the different census years in the USA). I have found four Hugh DEBOYS in County Londonderry in 1831, and on the Griffith's Valuation there were 4 DEBOYS men in Kingsbog (was part of Parish Ballylinny which merged with Parish Carnmoney). I also found a Hugh DEBOYS in Ballyhenry, County Antrim. My problem is that I can not find a marriage record for Hugh and Margaret, nor the baptism of Mary Jane. Margaret was supposed to have died in 1848. James worked near Havre, France for a few years then immigrated to America from France in the mid 1850s. I have not found the ship where Isabella and Mary Jane came as single women to join their brother. The first US census I found Mary Jane on was 1880 in Muncie, IN with her husband William Dunlap, whom she married in 1872. I have found James on the 1860, 1880-1900 census .. so I suspect that the girls showed up about 1870. The did change their surname to BOYCE (BOICE on some census) as of the 1860 census. Do not know when it was actually changed .. in Ireland, France or America. Any help would be appreciated. Bonita Notify Administrator about this message?
