I think that should be Canada West (now Ontario), not W. Canada. My ggggrandfather was Davis Boyce of Loughborough Twp., Frontenac Co., (near Kingston, Ontario), born about 1799 - He and wife Susannah had a son and at least two grandsons named Davis. Some of the family did head west in United States.
