Family history related by my late father. Said he peeped into a tin box containing old papers as a child. The record indicated his father, James Giles, born 1870, served in Royal Marines, either at, or during the Boxer rebellion. Application to Hayes, Middlesex of records ,years ago, stated records destroyed in 1940. British, American, French and Japanese marines relieved the forbidden city. Anyone know of the British part there- also how to get a clue on my grandfather- even if he was in the marines? Notify Administrator about this message?
