I am researching the following and am most interested in hearing from
anyone with more knowledge of the following:
Ara Belle Box, b 9 July 1874 Polk Co MO, d 3 Jan. 1960, Polk Co MO
(youngest child of Daniel R. Box and his 3rd wife Sarah Chesser Moore
Box) married 1 Sept. 1892, Polk Co., MO, to Weldon J. WALKER, b 10 Oct.
1868, d 15 June 1900, Polk Co MO.
Ara Belle and Weldon WALKER had three children:
Irma, b 1894, MO married Walter WAGGONER
Lena, b 1897, MO married Virgil THOMPSON
Richard, b 7 Aug. 1898, MO, d 9 Nov. 1961, did not marry
I have been unsuccessful in finding marriage record for the two
daughters and have not been able to locate their cemetery records.
After Weldon Walker died, Ara Belle married a second time, on 29 April,
1907, Polk Co., MO, to William Haines CARTER, b 28 Dec. 1873, Charity,
Dallas Co., MO, d 25 Aug 1947, Polk Co MO.
Ara Belle and William CARTER had four children:
Elbert, b 1908, d 1988, all Polk Co MO, did not marry
Floris Hazel, b 27 Dec. 1909, d 1989, all polk Co MO married Coy PIERCE

William Eugene, b 17 July 1912, Polk Co MO married Mary Kathleen Hayden
-divorced
Velma, b 8 Feb 1916, Polk Co MO married Ray W. BROWN
I recently found Ara Belle and William CARTER in the 1910 MO Census
Soundex living in Polk Co., MO and discovered
that William CARTER probably had a previous marriage, as there are two
children listed, who were born before he married Ara Belle and their
last name is CARTER:
Edith, daughter, age 6, b MO
Eva, daughter, age 4, b MO
Also listed were their children Elbert and Floris as well as one of Ara
Belle's children by her first marriage, Irma.
I am MOST interested in anyone's knowledge of William Carter's first
marriage and of the children born of that union, as well as information
about the children from Ara Belle's first marriage.
