Mahala Rachel Box married Joseph Raper in Hall Co. GA, and they eventually migrated to Itawamba Co., Mississippi. Some believe that Mahala was at least part Cherokee, although I have nothing to substantiate that. Some say her father was Jonathan Box, of Carroll Co., GA, son of John Box of Laurens Co. SC, son of Robert Box of Kent, Eng. I need some documentation to establish this connection and any information on Mahala's mother.
