Jerry, I have seen no primary documentation (Wills, deeds or Family Bible) that confirms the relationship of Mary "Polly" Stewart to Abraham Box. However, the naming patterns of her family and the census records of 1820 Perry Co. TN and 1830 Hickman Co. TN support the father/daughter relationship. Joyce Pruhs has sent me an email wherein she summarizes from a book named "The Sampson Stewarts": "Hi Joe, I located the Stewart book--THE SAMPSON STEWARTS-- and copied several pages that named BOX. Many were abstracts of census records and neighbors listed too. Some are hand drawn pedigrees, somewhat confusing, but good still. A narrative also. Notes and census pages show William Stewart Sr. and Abraham Box in same area of TN. Mary Polly BOX md. Elisha STEWART and shows their children-- and Mary Polly BOX STEWART'S 2nd marriage to William SPICER. Mary Polly BOX STEWART SPICER outlived both husbands. Families of William STEWART SR's children given in detail." The SAMPSON STEWARTS may be found as a Google Book: http://books.google.com/books?id=mxdWAAAAMAAJ&q=The+Sampson+Stewarts:+a+family+record&dq=The+Sampson+Stewarts:+a+family+record&cd=2 If you can't find the book in a library, you can search the on-line book for snippets using the words Elisha and Spicer. Each word will give you signficant snippets. Notify Administrator about this message?
