Rita,
I am descended from Abraham Box. The group of genealogists with whom I share ideas and documentation, have developed a body of documentation that suggests Rebecca Box Jones is the daughter of Abraham and Catherine Lindley Box. We are aware of the general belief that Edward Box was her father and we am searching for the documentation and/or oral history that supports that belief. We want to consider the evidence of both possibilities before doing a pruning and grafting operation on this part of the Box family tree.
Our research does not find any connection of Rebecca Box Jones and the Choctaw Nation. The Robert Jones who is said to have signed the Choctaw Treaty is more likely to have been Robert M. Jones who was also born in 1808 but in AL rather than her son, Robert, who was born in 1808 in SC or KY.

Any help with oral history or documentation will be appreciated.

Joe
