I do not have a John Mitchell Box in my records of the Box family in Tippah Co., MS. My line is from John J. Box (b. 1846) son of Jessie Box(1820-1870)son of John Box( 1796, died in 1853 in Tippah Co. son of Robert Box, Jr. I do know there were other Box men who stayed in Hardeman Co., TN when my John and Robert Box came across the state line to MS in 1836-38 and purchased land as a result of the Pontotoc Treaty with the Chicksaw Indians in 1832. I have not found a link to the Robert Box in Hardeman C., TN who married Edna Rose and is buried in Hardeman Co. I am pretty sure that this Robert Box also had a brother or maybe a son named John. I believe his name may have been John Mitchell Box and a lot of these Box Family members are to be found in Ark. census records.
