Gene,

Thank you for responding. I am sure you probably have the census records, but I believe this is Jonathan Box:

1850 District 13, Jefferson, Tennessee cens, Jonathan Box 54 NC laborer, Jane 60 TN, William 7 TN
1860 Looney, Polk, Missouri cens, Jonathan Box 63 NC, Jane Box 71 TN
1870 Linden, Christian Co, MO cens, Jonathan Box 73 NC farm labor, Elizabeth Box 34 TN keeping house TN, Mary J 16 GA, William A 14 GA, Sarah E 6 MO

My research has concluded that Elizabeth Box is Elizabeth C. Washam born about 1836 probably in McMinn Co., TN. She is the daughter of Willis & Margaret Washam.

She was Elizabeth Worsham, age 13, born TN, in the Murray Co., GA 1850 census with her brother, John Worsham, age 22, born NC. Elizabeth married 1st) Jackson Robison "John" (Robeson) possibly in Murray Co. GA. John & Elizabeth Robeson were living near her mother, Margaret in the 1860 Swan Township, Taney Co., MO census. John born about 1838 in TN.

According to the death certificate for Elizabeth's daughter, Mary Jane Wallace, Elizabeth's father was Jackson Robinson, born TN, & her mother was Elizabeth Washam, born TN. John Robeson is apparently in the 1850 District 5, Habersham Co., Georgia census as Jackson Robeson age 14 born TN, living in the home of Elisha & Sophia Dion. Next door is John Robeson age 73 born NC & his wife Jane age 33 born NC.

Elizabeth married 2nd) Jonathan Box. Elizabeth is in the 1870 Linden, Christian Co, MO census living next to her mother, Margret Washham, age 64, born NC. She is listed as Elizabeth Box, age 34, born TN living with Jonathan Box, age 73, born NC and children: Mary J. Box, age 16 born GA, William A. Box age 14 born GA & Sarah E. Box, age 6, born MO.

The children in the 1870 census are from her marriage to Jackson or John Robison.

Elizabeth's father is Willis Washam. He is in the History of Greene Co., MO as the first man legally hung there:

Do you have the source for the 1866 marriage in Polk Co, MO.

Do you have any children for Jonathan & Mary Jane?

Thanks,

Larry Washam
