Emma,
I think your William Box b. 1805 in SC might be William Box of Beaufort District, St. Peters Parish, SC, who appears in the 1830 SC census next to Thomas Box and Richard R. Box. I am searching Richard R. Box. It may be that they are brothers. By the 1840 census Richard Box has died and his wife Esther Solomons Box is head of household. William Box and his wife show no children in 1830. Of course, their Richard might have been missed somehow. They have left the area by 1840. William is 20-30 and his wife is 20-30. I found the probable graves of Richard R. Box and Esther "Hester" "Hettie" Solomons Box this weekend in a remote location near where they lived. They were beside the marked grave of their daughter Annie E. Box who died in 1857, and near the marked grave of Elizabeth Ann Box ,wife of their oldest son Edward William Box. Elizabeth Ann Box died 4 Jan. 1861 " in the 40th year of her age". There was a grave located next to Elizabeth Ann Box and I expect it was the grave of Edward William Box but it was unmarked. Richard R. Box's son Horace R. Box is buried in Union Cemetery also in Hampton County.
