Amanda was the daughter of Nelson Box and Elizibeth (Garner)Box. Maiden names were often mistaken. Sometimes children would take a step fathers name. Don`t know if that is the case here but we are talking about the same family. Nelson moved from Franklin CO. Tenn. to Blount Co., Alabama, and then on to Texas (Mustang Prarie)in 1834.
Box and two brothers fought at San Jacinto while another brother was a gaurd at Harrisburg. Amanda was almost certainly born in Texas.
