Have a copy of the marriage licence forJames Briant (Bryant) and Adeline Box dated l/12/1858 in Ohio County, KY. The 1860 Ohio County, KY Census lists a James Bryant, age 25 with a wife, Adeline, age 19. Also in the same household was Elizabeth Box, age 16 (believe she was Adeline's sister) and Henry Box, 1 month (apparently Elizabeth's son). Have 3 later dated marriage licences for Elizabeth Box to Lafayette Hunt on 9/10.1863, to Francis Daniel on 5/9/1866 and to Jesse Royal on 7/16/1860, all in Ohio County, KY. The 1850 Ohio County, KY Census lists a Polly Box, age 49, born in Virginia, with daughters, Malinda, age 14,Elizabeth, age 8, Adeline, age 9 and son, Hamilton, age 11. Birthplace of all children is listed as Tennessee. I also found an marriage licence in Ohio County, KY. dated 4/25/1859 for a Polly Box to a James Royal. She may have died in Ohio County, KY in October, 1860 as there is a will probated about that date for a Mary Royal. Have no information as to any listing on the 1860 Ohio County, KY Census for James or Polly Royal and do not have further information the the probated will. If the information on the 1850 Census was correct, Polly would have been about 35 years of age when the oldest listed child was born. Could there have been other older children, possibly married, that did not move from Tennessee to Kentucky with her. Any info will be appreciated Notify Administrator about this message?
