Hi Jim,

I just saw your message on the web...some Boxes are just slower than others to react. Regarding the name Box (Baux)....the family lore you talked of may be in fact, Fact! The Boxes in the London Ontario, Canada area have also spelled their name BAUX. The story I was told was that there was a Box who was a teacher in a French speaking community in the London area somtime in the early to mid 1800's. He changed his name to Baux to be more in line with the linguistic needs of the community. This probably only makes sense to a Box.There were also Box's (Baux's) that left this area, in the mid 1800's, and were presumed to settle in Las Vegas with some religious sect. Maybe some of them settled in your neck of the woods too. I'm not sure where your are writing from. Anyways, hope this may be of help to you. Like to hear from you. My Email is boxcom@sympatico.ca.
Best Regards
Gary
