Edward Box born 1754 in South Carolina; died 17 May 1857 in Decatur Co. Tenn. He resided in Laurens Co. S.C. during the Revolution and served as a private in Capt. Robert Manfield Co., enlisted at Reedy River, Laurens S.C. He was in Col. Wortons S.C Regiment (D.A.R. Paper No. 230225-Lillie Roberts Schneitter). He recived his pension while living in Perry Co. Tenn. and he lived to be 103 years of age. Pension W 25268 BL wt 26455-160-55. He left S.C. between 1800-1810, selling most of his land before he left, with records in Laurens Co. In 1816,1817, and 1828 he sold the rest of his land. His wife's name is recorded as Elizabeth in Deed Book M page 44. The known children by his first wife Wada Missouri Box, born 1795, Edward Box, Jr. and John Box. Judgement Roll No. 133 in Laurens S.C. names John Box, yoeman, as a son of Edward. Edward married 2nd, Nancy???, 7 March 1842 and Nancy died 4 September 1860. Edward is listed in 1830 &1840 Perry Co. Tenn. and 1850 Decatur Co. Tenn. (Decatur was formed from Perry).
