Dear Elizabeth, I am trying to trace a Joseph Bowyer. In 1829 at the age of 23, Joseph of Macclesfield was charged with assault and robbery on a John Bowers. He was found guilty and transported to Australia for 14 years. Joseph was married at the time and was a blacksmith's labourer. I have no birth or marriage for him in England.
Any information would be appreciated.
