My Grandmother was Sarah Virginia Bowyer b. 6 Apr 1844, d. 11 Mar 1928. She was born in Alleganhy Co.(Potts Creek) VA and died in Bingham, Greenbrier Co. WV. Her father was John Bowyer b. 1805, d. 1883 her mother was Nancy Craft b. Oct 1813.and as far as I know they were both born in Alleghany Co. VA. His father was David Bowyer b. Abt. 1768 Second Creek Monroe Co. VA, d 1862. His father was Adam Bowyer b. 6 Apr 1747 d.1825 both born and died in Monroe Co. VA. His father was Michael Bowyer b. 1714 d. 1800 also both born and died in Monroe Co. VA. Monroe Co. was part of Virginia until 20 June 1863 when it became West Virginia.

I have obtained this information mostly from the Alleghany Highlands Genealogy Society in Covington, VA and would be interested in finding out if there is any connection to Gen. John Bowyer of Rockbridge Co. I would be interested in sharing any information anyone might have with what I have.
Robert Haynes
