Silas Bowyer and Sarah Kerby were married 5 Jan 1860 Monroe Co., VA. The bond shows he is 27 (b. 1833) and she is 21 (b. 1839). Postings on Worldconnect show Silas Washington Bowyer and that his father was Jonathan N. Bowyer, son of Phillip Bowyer. Silas is shown as Washington Bowyer 18 in his father's household in 1850. I see Martin Kirby family on the 1850 census with Sarah 12 and her sister Nancy 14. Nancy will marry Andrew L. Bowyer in 1857, brother of Silas. In 1870 Monroe Co., WV Wolf Creek - there is a widow? Sarah Bowyer 31 with children Cornelius 12, George 10, Sarah J. 9, James 6 and John 4. 1880 Monroe Co., WV Wolf Creek is Sarah Boyer 41, John 15, George 14, James 18. My interest is in the son, John Bowyer/Boyer. A search of all the 1880 census for a John William Boyer b. @1863 WV has led me to this family. A John W. Boyer b. Oct 1863 West Virginia is on the 1900 Census of Wyandot Co., OH married to Zelda Belle Fiant of Hocking Co., OH. He named a son, George W. Boyer and said his father was in the Civil War. Does anyone have any further information about Silas and Sarah's family and if possibly their son John moved to Ohio? Thank you for any help at all. Pamela G.
