I am not researching this family, just entering information from one of my books "Houses Virginians Have Loved" by Agnes Rothery, 1954.

This regards the "Toll House Farm, built by Valentine Sevier . "...when Valentine Sevier sold the place - the deed which gives the date as March 19, 1777, and mentions that the tract is'commonly known as the place where Valentine Sevier formerly lived' hangs in the walnut paneled library - it was to another Frenchman, Michael bowyer. Bowyer was one of a group of French Huguenots, and when, in his turn, he sold the farm, it was to a compatriot, Sebastian Marche." It remained in his family until 1877.
