William H. Bowser was born 4 Aug 1846 in Ligonier, Westmoreland, Pennsylvania. His parents were Margaret (maiden name unknown) born abt. 1822. I can find no information on his father. Margaret remarried I am assuming sometime before 1857 to a William Hopkins who immagrated from Wales it appears about 1809 he settled in Ligonier and appears there till 1870 census which I assume he must have died between the next census. Margaret and William Hopkins had two children...John A. and Mary C. or Kate.

William H. is said served in the civil war as a boy of 14 and was captured and held prisoner in the Libby prison. Whoever I can find facts to varify that other than a late civil war registration in North Dakota where he moved, lived and died sometime in 1880's. His obit is also very complete with information about his service in the civil war. He married Mary Agnes in 1874.

Any information on this family would be so appreciated. I am really at a dead end.

Thank you,
Jeanie
