Looking for information on George BOWSER Jr, Sackville parish, and Mary E OULTON, Westmorland parish, who were married 1 Jul 1836 according to the Westmorland Co Marriage Register, entry B-022-1712 (K Kanner transcripts). Who are his parents? I can not find him listed in the The Bowser Family by Reg Bowser. Is he a son of George BOWSER (b. 1785 d. 15 Nov 1840)? Milner's History of Sackville, New Brunswick states that this George BOWSER, son of Thomas and Mary (LAYTON) BOWSER, ' ... died at middle age unmarried., but Reg Bowser states that he may have married Charlotte .. Other bits of information that I have found include: Sackville Rural Cemetery transcript on Westmorland Co NBGenWeb site <http://www.rootsweb.com/~nbwestmo/cem-sackrural.htm>: = George Bowser b. E. Bowser, a son of George Bowser, Middle Sackville, was a distinguished son of the Province. He was a graduate of Rutger's College, New Jersey, and for twenty-seven years was a professor there of Mathematics and civil engineering. He was an author of seven text books on calculus and cognate subjects. He travelled much and in Syria was quite surprised to find some of his books in use there. He was born in 1837 and died in Honolulu in 1909. His ashes were brought to his adopted home at Rutger's and interred there. He was never married. ...' and '... Susan, daughter of James B.[BULMER and Ruth HARRIS], married George Bowser -- his second wife -- no children. She died in 1886, aged 58 years. ...' Rutger University web site <http://math.rutgers.edu/docs/history.html> 'Edward Bowser (Rutgers class of 1868) was hired as tutor in 1868, and became an adjunct professor in 1870. When Major Kellogg resigned the next year, Bowser was promoted to Professor of Mathematics and Civil Engineering, retiring only in 1904. Edward Bowser (1837-1910) was born in New Brunswick, Canada. He was in the first class to receive the new B.S. degree from the Rutgers Scientific School in 1868. ...' I have other census information plus some of the children also appear in the cemetery transcripts, etc. ----------------- These all appear to be related to the George BOWSER and Mary E OULTON and their family, but does anyone have other information which would connect them more firmly? Mary E OULTON would appear to be the Mary Elizabeth OULTON, dau of William Martyn OULTON and Mary Elizabeth FORSTER, who was baptised 12 May 1811, Sackville, NB and was born 28 Mar 1811. I am researching the OULTON family so I am looking for any information on the descendants of the George BOWSER and Mary E OULTON.
