Hello,
in a letter dated 1844 my far-away aunt, Eleonora Phillips - Hay writes that mr. John Lawford was a close friend of my ancestor (her brother) Adolphus Hay living in Königsberg.(actual Kaliningrad).
That was in the years 1800 - 1813.
My ... aunt writes also that mr Lawford was the uncle of mr. John Bowring who married Adolphus'daughter, Jeanna Hay.
John and Jeanna went to Mexico and John died there in Guanajuato.
She came back to Belgium where she died in Antwerp, where I live.
Do somebody knows how John Lawford was John Bowring's uncle?
