Sarah BOWERING, born about 1815/1816 in Wootton Fitzpaine, Dorset, England, died 1860 in Hounsfield, Jefferson Co.,New York (USA). She married in England, Robert STOKES, baptized 29 January 1804 at Hawkchurch, Dorset, England, died 1863 in Hounsfield, Jefferson Co., New York.
She was likely a relation or daughter of William & Harriet Bowering whose daughter Ann was christened 29 November 1812 at Wootton Fitzpaine, Dorset, since their location and names match Sarah's family (Robert & Sarah named children William & Harriet).
If you happen to know anything about the ancestry of this Sarah (Bowering) Stokes I would appreciate whatever insight you could offer. I am their great-great-grandson and I grew up in New York. I don't have access to the Dorset or Devon records.
