How about these names for Sophie/Sopha/Sophia Bowlin Bartley's children? Asa Ava (called Avy, Avie-not spelled "Amy" as in early census- my grandmother) Osa (called Osie, Osy, Osee- long "O" sound) Ora (called Orie, Aura, Aurey) Oel (pronounced "Oil") Otis- lived with sister, Ava and husband, Ode Kiser for many years and often assumed by researchers looking at census info to be a Kiser. Ersa (called Ersie, Ursie) I wonder if this is short for Ursula? Okra (yes, like the vegetable, called Okrie) Lessa (called Lessie but in records as Ethel sometimes- no one knows why) Can anyone make some connections- certainly some unique names here.
